Prior to joining Roanoke County's Economic Development Department in October 2022, Megan served in a similar role as President of the Fayette County Development Authority in Georgia. She spearheaded development of a 600-acre business park and oversaw many elements of the community’s rebranding process to enhance business attraction efforts.
Other experience includes positions with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Clayton State University, the Georgia Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Megan is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council, a standard of excellence in the profession. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
Lindsay Webb, MPA
Assistant Director of Business Retention & Operations
Prior to joining Roanoke County's Economic Development Department, Lindsay was Parks Planning and Development Manager for Roanoke County's Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. She spent 13 years planning and developing parks, greenways, and blueways in Roanoke County. Her efforts have helped support regional and local strategies to expand outdoor recreation, conserve open space, and support economic development and tourism initiatives.
Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University with a double major in Public Administration and Political Science. She also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Tech. She completed a Graduate Certificate Program in Local Government Management through a partnership with the Virginia Tech Center for Public Administration and Policy and the Virginia Local Government Management Association.
Lindsay brings over 19 years of professional experience in local government specializing in project management, grant administration, and community planning. She currently serves as a Roanoke County representative on the Roanoke Valley Greenway Commission and the Roanoke River Blueway Committee.
Alexander Jones, ASLA Assistant Director of Marketing & Business Development
Prior to joining Roanoke County's Economic Development Department, Alexander was Principal Planner and the Long-Range Planning Division Manager for Roanoke County’s Planning Department. He spent seven years leading the division in the development of the Roanoke County 200 Plan and other planning projects. He contributed to the development and implementation of the County’s award-winning activity center plans and economic development projects. He also served as the staff representative to Roanoke County’s Career and Technical Education Citizen Advisory Committee that led to the preliminary recommendations for the new Roanoke County CTE Center being constructed. Prior to his tenure with Roanoke County, he was a Landscape Architecture Designer at the Community Design Assistance Center at Virginia Tech.
Alexander holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Virginia Tech. He is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the American Planning Association (APA). His awards and honors include being named to The Roanoker Magazine’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2023, a graduate of the Roanoke Regional Chamber’s Leadership Roanoke Valley Class of 2024, and receiving awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo), Virginia Association of Counties (VACo), and APA Virginia Chapter.
Alexander has played a large role in planning for economic development projects and represents the county on regional boards and committees, including the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and Greater Williamson Road Area Business Association Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Roanoke County's Economic Development Department, Nellie worked as a Management Consultant at Oliver Wyman in Boston, where she provided strategic advice to companies and government agencies on market strategies, financial modeling, and risk management.
Her background also includes managing the Master’s program in Healthcare Quality and Safety at Harvard Medical School, where she oversaw program operations and fostered strong relationships with faculty, students, and healthcare professionals. Additionally, Nellie worked as a real estate agent in Charlottesville, guiding clients through the home buying process and contributing to sales growth for her firm.
Nellie holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, with concentrations in Finance and IT.
